The Ombudsman found that council for the City of Timmins did not violate the Municipal Act when it went in camera on September 25, 2013, to discuss "potential litigation" with respect to the wastewater treatment plant upgrade.
The Ombudsman found that council for the City of Timmins did not violate the Municipal Act when it went in camera on September 25, 2013, to discuss "potential litigation" with respect to the wastewater treatment plant upgrade, or when it went in camera on October 28, 2013, to discuss "labour relations and employee negotiations" with respect to non-union wage increases, where those wage increases included both employee and councillor increases and there was no discussion specific to council remuneration.
