A woman in Thunder Bay decided to go to a local ServiceOntario to update her home address on her driver’s licence, after first checking the website to confirm the service location offered services in French. When she arrived, however, she found that wasn’t the case, and contacted our Office to complain. Following discussions with our Office, ServiceOntario discovered it had made a mistake on its website and in its internal communications materials about which service locations could provide French services. Since then, the ServiceOntario website has been updated to provide clear information about the French services offered at each service location, and information was sent to each location to remind them of the tools at their disposal to assist and direct any client requesting services in French.
